In this parsed essay we will consider the fascinating juxtaposition, literally to the extremes, of Creationist and Intelligent Design preoccupation with complexity and Atheist-Darwinian-Evolution preoccupation with simplicity when it comes to the issue of life’s origins—find the whole essay here.
For instance, our universe is a time, space, matter continuum—“In the beginning [time] God created the heavens [space] and the earth [matter]”—wherein cause is followed, in a linear manner, by effect. This is what makes science possible.
Cultures with cyclical concepts of time (endless cycles, loops, circles, etc.) lacked in this area as they did not recognize the lineal nature of time. Also, cultures that considered the universe to be an illusion of some or another sort did not recognize that the universe a real existence upon which one could experiment.
Conversely, the Judeo-Christian view is what this writer has come to term “Material Creationism.” This is meant to convey that the Judeo-Christian view recognizes that YHVH created an actually existing material realm wherein cause is followed by effect in a linear manner. However, also affirming that YHVH is not subject to, is not constrained by, the linear continuum—“In the beginning God [a preexisting being outside of, beyond time, space, matter] created [employed mind so as to volitionally infuse with energy] the heavens and the earth.”

The “science stopper” fallacy has been examined and refuted in detail in the following segmented essay:

The historical view of science and its inception within a Judeo-Christian (as well as a refutation of the myth of a Dark Ages) is well dealt with in Rodney Stark’s book The Victory of Reason.

Darwinism was, sadly, instantly exploited towards atheistic ends. This resulted in an instant stalling of its progress as an actual scientific theory. The problem was that some took, and still many take, a theory that was supposed to be about biology and turn it into a worldview.
This is why Charles Darwin is viewed by so many in saintly terms and why atheists mistakenly think that “science” has something to do with atheism when it does not. They appeal to quaint Victorian Era Darwinian tall tales as supposed refutation of God’s creative power.
Consider the issue of life’s origins and this becomes very clear. Some Darwinists abscond from such discussions by asserting that Darwinism in particular and evolution in general have nothing to do with the origins of life but only with how life developed after it came into being. This is good news for those of us dealing with atheists who also want to claim that evolution proves that God did not create life as they have obviously argued themselves into a corner: how could evolution make God superfluous when it does not deal with life’s origins?
